Muna Chuna & Company (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a wholesale grocery and general goods supplier based at Erf 522, 491 James Crescent, Ext 56, Midrand, Gauteng, 1682, South Africa. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
1. Information we collect
This website has no forms. We do not collect personal information through an online enquiry, checkout or contact form. If you call, email or visit us, we may keep business contact details you give us, such as:
- your name and company name;
- telephone number and email address;
- the products, quantities and delivery location you discuss with us; and
- any notes needed to quote, invoice or deliver goods.
We do not collect identity numbers, payment card details or browsing profiles through this website.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information only to:
- respond to wholesale calls, emails and visits, and prepare quotations;
- confirm pack sizes, availability and delivery arrangements;
- maintain records of business correspondence; and
- comply with tax, accounting and legal duties that apply to a wholesale supplier.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for unrelated marketing lists.
3. Legal basis
We process information because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a supply arrangement, to perform a contract if one is concluded, or because we have a legitimate business interest in answering trade enquiries. Where POPIA requires consent, we will ask for it clearly.
4. Sharing
We may share information with:
- staff who handle quotations and dispatch;
- delivery contractors, only where needed to complete an order; and
- professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it.
Any service provider that stores business contact data on our behalf is expected to keep it secure and use it only for our instructions.
5. Retention
Business contact details are kept for as long as needed to complete the discussion and, if a supply relationship follows, for the period required for invoices, delivery notes and statutory records. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.
6. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No communication channel can guarantee absolute security. Do not send payment card numbers by email.
7. Cookies and this website
This is a static website. It does not set advertising cookies and does not run a third-party analytics tag. Your browser may still store ordinary session data required to display pages. The map on the contact page is provided by Google Maps and is subject to Google’s own privacy terms when that map loads.
8. Your rights
Subject to POPIA, you may ask us to confirm whether we hold your personal information, to correct it, to delete it where we no longer have a lawful reason to keep it, or to object to certain processing. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
9. Children
This website is intended for business buyers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
